Let me start with the fact that RoE is not the best, but not the worst game in its genre either. The action takes place in the fictional city of Dione. But suddenly(!11) he is attacked by terrible weather conditions called Ymir. What’s funny is that in Greek mythology, Dione is the moon. And in German-Scandinavian mythology, Ymir is the first living creature that created humanity.
We are thrown onto a fairly large map, and that’s actually it.
The map consists of a vast number of places, but its largest component is mountains, hills, and, in principle, wild territories that are difficult to overcome on your own. But that’s what the class system is for.
There are only three classes. These are: Glider, the lightest and most mobile class, but can’t carry too much stuff. Has 250 slots, as well as a hang glider, with which you can while away the distance from one point to another.
Snowboard, the golden mean between light and heavy. Has 325 slots, and also (it wasn’t hard to guess) a snowboard. Allows you to slide down slides effectively, roll on the ground like a fool, and also looks funny.
Climber, the hardest, slowest and most useful class in my opinion. Has 400 slots, as well as two pieces of equipment. These are crampons that allow you to climb the mountain in certain places, as well as a zipline that allows you to quickly move from one point to another. There’s not much to say about weapons, a standard set of shotguns, rifles, submachine guns, DMR-ok, grenades. It’s disappointing that they haven’t added any melee weapons, although there are mechanics for putting away firearms, but you can’t hit them with your fists. Humanely!
Customization is also a fairly important part. It is, of course, inferior to any Escape From Tarkov or WW3, but is an ordinary casual system. You can attach all sorts of sights, silencers, attachments, enlarged magazines, stocks and handles. Quite good and also with balance.
Mechanics – the strong point of the ring.
The zone itself, instead of a long and monotonous movement to the circle, will immediately hit you in the face. But they also give you more time, the first zone is 7(!) minutes. This time is enough to get lost and move to the zone. But the zone is tricky, because as they said, instead of moving towards the circle, it immediately gets there, starting to cause damage to you. You are not in the zone? Then good luck, because every 10-15 seconds she starts doing more damage.
When the final zone appears, a helicopter arrives and can evacuate four players. Moreover, ANY. Basically, players from different teams can get into it and then look at the funny article in the newspaper.
And yes, during this very last zone, all players are shown on the mini-map and also take damage. However, when you kill other players, you get the so-called “Adrenaline Rush”, which removes this ailment for 12 seconds.
We don’t count regular air parcels, they’re too hackneyed in Battle Royals.
There are such interesting cabins called funiculars. And they ride all over the map. Of course, they are quite slow, but they can still be used as transport, or just shoot at enemies from above. At least try, sorry.
But you know, if you try really hard, you can break it. Yes, yes, having fired a certain number of bullets (and at the same time hitting the cable car itself, it’s difficult!), you will make this magic box stop moving, and it will also fall. And if you don’t have too many health units and you fall from a height of bird droppings, then I can only wish you good luck, because falls usually end in death.
You can also cause avalanches by shooting or throwing grenades into the snow on the mountains. And-oh-my-god, this avalanche can also destroy trees, cars, houses and of course players. Oh, and cars. They are crooked. Very.
Customization in the game is quite good, but it has its drawbacks. For example, you can make him/her your own face, or from the presets that are available. Also, you can put on them all sorts of hats, jackets and pants. But the number of hairstyles is meager and they can’t even change color. And also, if you are the owner of a local Battle Pass, then you can take three characters, but they have styles, which is why you cannot wear hats on them, and helmets and body armor are not drawn on them.
What is the Adventurer Pass?? Opens up all sorts of goodies for you, an increase in experience gained, new challenges with which you can get more skins, accessories and other junk. Of course, this way you support the creators, but… the game publisher is Tencent. T-E-N-C-E-N-T, or:
You don’t even need to know the meaning of these words, the numbers speak for themselves. Most likely, this could end up with RoE becoming the Fortnite that PUBG. Ha!
The game, of course, is not perfect, but it can lay claim to the laurels of a good battle royale. Yes, there are strange animations and visual bugs, but I couldn’t find these same bugs that break the game or the gameplay. At most, these were doors that sucked the player into themselves, but this was most likely due to my ping.
As a result, it is impossible to judge now. It’s in early access, it’s still being finalized. Soon (as of 07/12/2018) a new night map should be released. And the gameplay should be very different from what we have now. And so, this is a good alternative to PUBG if you are tired of it with its bugs and/or cheaters, which are not yet present in the game.
